Shrine of Madonna delle Grazie Città di Castello - Umbria - Italy

The church is now shrine. It was built between 1636 and 1381 by the Padri Srviti. Of the original gothic structure only the side door remains. There are also a few fragments of frescoes in the lunettes and the apse. The interior has a signel nave.
There is a chapel in the transept that houses a beautiful fresco of the Transit of the Virgin and is attributed to Ottaviano Nelli, it was painted in 1436. The Oratorio della Campagna della Madonna is opposite this chapel. There is an altar with a small door that contains the image of the Madona and child between Saint Florido and Filippo Benizi.
This is venerated as the “Madonna delle Grazie” and was painted by Giovanni da Piemonte, one of Piero della Francesca’s students.
